Sunday Mornings at Bethany…
Sunday School at 9:45 a.m.: Two adult classes and two children/youth classes meet each week to learn more about Christ and how to live for Him. Our classes are praying for families to join us and fill our classrooms with people with open hearts that seek to love, learn, and live for Christ.
Worship Service at 11:00 a.m.: Sunday worship at Bethany is a traditional style worship service, typically with traditional music and some contemporary mixed in from time to time. The atmosphere during worship is relaxed and often “interactive”. You will see different attire at Bethany, from ladies dressed in their best with hats, guys with suits, to folks in jeans on any given Sunday. We figure it’s not what we wear to church — it’s having a heart ready for worship that the Lord’s looking for! It is important that you come join us in professing our love for Christ, working with us to learn more about Christ, so that we can actively live for Christ and share the Good News of the gospel to those who do not know our Savior! Our congregation is praying for the Lord to bring us more brothers, sisters, and children in Christ to join us in being a “Lighthouse” for Jesus!
Wednesday Night Activities…
Little Lights and Lighthouse Youth Groups meet at 6:00 p.m. for a lesson, a light snack supper, and lots of fun before going home at 7:30 p.m. Our Youth Groups are like a big extended family that enjoy each other and learn more about living for Christ! Ask some of our youngest; they can tell you about Jesus!
Adult Choir practices from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Music style is primarily traditional anthems and hymns. Contemporary Christian music is enjoyed as well. The Music Ministry is praying for God’s continued blessings to expand our members with more singers and instrumentalists who love Christ and enjoy giving the Sermon in Song to our congregation.
Bible Study is held in the Fellowship Hall at 7:30 p.m. and lasts an hour — and usually has lots of lively discussion! New to studying the Bible? Come join us and begin learning more about Christ. We do not gauge the knowledge each has of the Bible; we rejoice that we’re all learning together. This Bible Study helps all who attend learn more about Christ and how His instructions from the Bible teach us to love Christ more by developing a relationship with Him and live for Christ by strengthening our walk of faith.
On the last Wednesday night of each month, Family Night Supper is held at 6:30 p.m. and youth meetings are cancelled (but a brief Choir Practice is held afterward). This is a potluck dinner and time for fellowship with all the members and visitors.
Hour of Prayer Meetings…
Members of Bethany meet at two different times of the week to join in an “Hour of Prayer”. Groups gather in the church parlor on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. and Fridays at 11:00 a.m. to pray for spoken and unspoken concerns. Know that prayer concerns shared during these events are handled with confidentiality. Everyone is welcomed to join us.
Women of the Church …
Bethany’s Women of the Church serve to share the love and joy of Jesus Christ together as we pray, study God’s Word, and reach out through mission, service, encouragement, and fellowship. There are three Circles which meet monthly. Both day and evening meeting times allow those working or retired a time to gather together with like-minded Christian ladies.
Other Women of the Church sponsored events are:
- Spring Fling – held in April of each year to honor the Senior Citizens in our community. This event provides a meal, as well as Christian music and entertainment that is both fun and enjoyable!
- Yard Sale and Apple Butter – Church fund raisers that are held in May and October, respectively. Proceeds are used to fund hunger programs as well as purchase improvement items for the church.
Men’s Prayer Breakfasts…
Bethany’s men enjoy meeting together on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 7:00 a.m. and prepare breakfast together, have a devotion, prayer and fellowship, with one another. They pride themselves in preparing meals where calories are not considered! At the December breakfast, all the women of the church are invited.
Community Prayer Box…
The community is invited to share your prayer needs with us! You may have seen our banner near the road asking you to share your prayer concerns and a “prayer box” appears beside it. Please stop by and give your prayer concerns to the praying members of Bethany Presbyterian Church and it is guaranteed that your concern WILL be prayed for. All prayer requests are handled with confidentiality. Paper and pencil are provided.
